One summer afternoon, I was painting in my studio and happened to look out the window and saw a Red-tailed Hawk perched on a tree limb. I thought it was such a magnificent creature; it looked so strong, yet vulnerable. This beautiful bird gave me the inspiration to do a monoprint series with the theme of birds in flight.
